Overwatch solo queue meaning3/11/2024 ![]() ![]() I think this would be easier to create balanced games and the SR numbers would be more accurate over the long run. This would eliminate from Role Queue a number of toxic behaviors: Groups ganging up on and verbally abusing solo queue teammates. Asking this question because I pretty much just play healer or Orisa in solo queue, and Im still stuck in lower ranks I flex pretty much every game because I care more about winning than getting a kill streak, but I keep getting stuck with awful team comps who arent willing to do the same thing. ![]() That's because of what I explained, if they didn't do that, queue times are insanely long. Groups could still queue for competitive in the Open Queue mode. You see it constantly everywhere people complaining about having someone drastically lower SR than you on your team. Sadly the matchmaker will always be beyond trash and honestly could kill this game because unless they get rid of role queue or they revert the matchmaking change (they won't for reasons explained above, people would be sitting in queue for 30 minutes to an hour on most roles in most SR ranks) it will always be bad. Then came the day where they completely changed the matchmaker and gave the SR range a wild variance shortly after role queue came out so people weren't sitting in queue for no joke literally hours (you can go watch many clips of top 500 players sitting in queue every day and every queue for 1-2 hours) and this is the main reason they changed the matchmaker, but this drastically hurt the quality of games in favor of faster queues. Queue times were insanely long, that's because the matchmaker was carried over from the original open queue and the game was able to give much higher quality of games since queue times were not an issue. Older players will remember when role queue first came out. Overwatch matchmaker is beyond f**cked because they need to compensate for queue times. Loss streaks are from fatigue, lack of focus and mental booming. Imagine the insane mathematical equation algorithm they would need to be able to force everyone 50/50 when there is 10 players in each lobby.
